
MONTANA NHSC SEARCH IS: funded by the National Health
Service Corps, administered by the Montana Primary
Care Office in the Dept. of Public Health & Human
Services, and operated by the Montana Family Medicine
Residency based in Billings.
Designed to facilitate and strengthen community-academic linkages and increase the recruitment and retention of health care professionals in underserved areas of our state by expanding the number of high-quality service-linked training opportunities available in these communities.
Built on a foundation of volunteer community practitioners
in the disciplines of medicine, nursing, mental health,
and dentistry;
An opportunity for students and residents to train in
interdisciplinary teams, nurture the development of
culturally competent community responsive primary care
providers.
An interdisciplinary statewide partnership sharing
and coordinating resources and developing new, creative
strategies for providing primary care services for
medically underserved populations.
