What students like.... |
How students were affected.... |
| The best part of the preceptorship was the DIVERSITY. As a 4th year student, it was important for me to see all the different environments that a physician can practice in. Doing things such as going to the prison and offsite clinics made this experience so unique. |
The people I was privileged to work with were amazing provides and teachers. It was inspiring to be around such compassions and hard working individuals. I enjoyed the people that we served. |
| Montana SEARCH is a terrific opportunity for students to become interactive in Montanan communities. |
I got to see and do a lot, learned not only about medicine but about the people who were patients. Everyone was very open and willing to teach. I would jump at the chance to go back. |
I enjoyed working as part of the health care team and learning more about the acquisition of resources for underserved populations.
|
Thank you for the opportunity. I am a better person for it and hopefully the community enjoyed my stay as well. |
| I loved Montana. It was a dream rotation, I would recommend it to anyone. |
Excellent rotation and preceptors!
I may actually move back here. |
| Medically, I was able to see the initial presentation of a wide variety of pathologies that would be sent to a specialty in an urban center. I was also given the opportunity to do autonomous histories, physicals, assessments, pt education and treatment planning for a large number of patients (with supervision of course). |
Personally, I learned about rural practice, and the lifestyle it affords. I was able to sample every aspect of western Montana culture. My preceptor, his family and staff made this rotation a joy and a very easy transition. |
| I enjoyed working within the Indian Health Service to see the difference in management of patients based on government responsibilities/limitations. |
Highlight of my education, motivated me to work in a rural community. |
